Currently Installing ! Much of this duplex on NYC’s Hudson River draws inspiration from the streamline moderne world of NYC in the 30s…at least the one that exists in my imagination. The kitchen especially draws on the intimate lounges of Radio City Music Hall, while the living room has vibes of a grand salon with its towering bookcases and deco-inspired chandelier. But the bold rug and luxe upholstery ground this firmly in modern comfort. The primary bath…with its rich neutral slabs, stained oak, bronze fixtures, and custom mosaic grid floor….feels as classic as the King Cole Bar. Would it be inappropriate to have a Scotch served here? The children’s rooms take a hard 90 degree turn from this, while still nodding to other twentieth century icons… namely the 1960s (hers) and Star Wars (his).
